HOOD RIVER — Recycling reaches a new level this year with a Recycle Your Art Sale at Columbia Center for the Arts.
“The community has asked what to do with artwork they no longer want, paintings that were inherited or work that has found its way to storage,” said CCA Executive Director Tim Harkins. “Whatever the reason, this is a chance to donate artwork and allow someone else to discover a new treasure and enjoy it.”
Donations should be high quality two- and three-dimensional art or photographs. Paintings can be abstract, landscape, figurative, still life and can be made by any artist (local, national or international). Ceramics, glass and sculpture will also be accepted.
“Each item will be juried so that our sale is of the highest quality and we will appraise the work to ensure an appropriate value,” Harkins said, adding that any history regarding the piece (history, artist’s name, date of purchase) should also be included.
Drop off artwork at the gallery July 6-8 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The sale will be held July 12-14, also from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
