The Kiwanis Club of La Cañada and the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge are co-hosting an art auction on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Community Center, 4469 Chevy Chase Dr., La Cañada Flintridge. Proceeds will benefit the scholarship funds of both organizations.

Attendees will enjoy an evening of wine and appetizers while perusing a wide array of curated pieces, including California plein-air, WPA, mid-century modern, portraits and contemporary artists. Fine art conservator, art historian and curator Maurine St. Gaudens will be present, providing information and perspective on the art during the event.

While the majority of the pieces will be sold via silent auction, art historian and curator Joseph Morsman will preside over a live auction of five of the most compelling works. Major sponsors of the event include Abell Auction Company, Pasadena Picture Framing, Terry Piasky with Coldwell Banker, Chuck Terhune, La Cañada Flintridge Sister Cities Association, and Descanso Gardens. Co-Chair Maureen Siegel Sprowles encourages the community to attend.

“Whether you are a seasoned collector or simply a passionate admirer of art, we promise you an informative and fun experience where you can purchase a treasure for a good cause,” she said.

Tickets are $50 per person. Original art will be awarded as door prizes.
