Dovecote Street Arts have been working on a project with Amble Youth Project to raise much needed funds to support art projects with young people. Local artists have given their time, talent and treasure to the auction by producing works on scrap squares of MDF. There has been a huge response with over 100 works available.
Dovecote Street Arts Co-Director Luke McTaggart said, “We’ve been thrilled at the response to this initiative, it’s been great to see the sheer variety and quality of the work people have very generously donated.”
Co-Director Jim Donnelly said, “The funds raised will go directly back into creating opportunities for young people to engage with arts activities in the local community.”
The auction takes place on Saturday 27 April from 6pm to 8pm at The Dovecote Centre, Dovecote Street, Amble NE65 0DX however it is already live online here .
Matthew Connolly chair of Amble Youth Project said, “It is great to see the burgeoning artistic community around Amble coming together to support young artists. Please explore the absolute gems online and in person.”
