Another feature of Lillies comes in the form of ‘Water Lillies’ painted in 1916. This one too features a beautiful landscape with dark and light blue shaded water that looks like it is forming ripples on the inside, and above it are water lilies, about 6-8 in a brilliant pink colour. This painting is a bit more abstract than the others for one cannot determine the exact lines or textures, but just soak in the moment as the brain makes sense of it all. There are no clear lines, no distinctions between water and lillies, no external sunshine or moon, in fact, not even a clear background!

All one sees here is a beautiful stream of water, partially covered with lilies, and reflections of the tree right above the pond.
