A Wexford artist who who is best known for her colourful hot air balloon seascape paintings is doing a free live painting demonstration in Gorey on Saturday, August 17.
Deborah Cogley is a painter from Enniscorthy who has had a colourful career to date and her exhibition this weekend will take place from 1:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. at the Gaslamp Gallery.
“I love a big expansive sky full of colour and the ocean always makes me feel so alive – like anything is possible. So I paint what I love and hope you find the colours and subject matter as calming and uplifting as I do.”
My work is an expression of how different colours can uplift our emotions and help our homes feel like more joyful and calm places. There are lots of subtle messages in my pieces but the most striking one is to have fun and enjoy the everyday moments,” she said.
Deborah is representing Wexford in the National Finals of the Network Ireland Business Women of the year awards in September. Moreover, she recently won the Wexford Creative business woman award and her business Deborah Cogley Art & Design has been showcased at the RDS seven times in the last year.
Her paintings can be found in homes, businesses and embassies throughout Ireland and further afield. She was also recently invited to take part in a painting program on Sky Television which will air next year.
The Gaslamp Gallery is home to artwork from some of Ireland’s most prolific artists. Deborah’s work can be found in the gallery all year round but there is an exclusive 15 per cent discount for all visitors this Saturday only.
