HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – As people drive on Main Street in downtown Harrisonburg, they may notice new art displayed on the traffic cabinets.
This art is thanks to a collaboration between Harrisonburg Downtown Renaissance and the Arts Council of the Valley to display the work of local artists wrapped around traffic cabinets downtown.
Jenny Burden, executive director of the Arts Council, said this is one of the many planned additions to the downtown art scene.
”We have such an incredible art scene — not just the visual art, but music too, as you might know,” Burden said. “To get these artists works out in the public eye, public art is for everyone.”
Burden said with 10 traffic cabinets wrapped already, they plan to wrap 10 more by 2028.
