Immersive study in art history brings Fredonia to Italy

Fifteen students from SUNY Fredonia spent 16 days in Italy studying Renaissance art history with Visual Arts and New Media Associate Professor Peter Tucker and Department of History Professor David Kinkela.Students gathering outside of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte, overlooking Florence,  

The students participated in a short-term summer Study Abroad course, Arts of Italy.

For over two weeks, the SUNY Fredonia contingent visited churches, museums and sites throughout Tuscany to explore the architecture, painting and sculpture of the Italian Renaissance. Students from all disciplines are invited to apply for future Arts of Italy trips through Fredonia’s Office of International Education.
