The art of visual communication

Last night BSSC’s Art Department was crowded with guests, students and staff admiring the wonderful collection featuring the final work of the 2024 Art Students.

The annual Year 12 Acquisitive Art Exhibition featured diverse materials and themes and included Painting, Drawing, Photography, Sculpture, Art Fashion, Visual Communication and Media.

A feast for the eyes and full of thought-provoking images and concepts, no-one was surprised to hear guest judge, Emma Busowsky, say it took her hours to adjudicate the work.

Emma is a curator and writer with specialisation in Australian art and museums and has worked in Australian art galleries for over 20 years.

She gave the winning artists fantastic feedback and encouraged all students to “keep making art”.Other special guests included the children of Margaret Standen. Margaret was a valued member of the BSSC Art Faculty for many years and has left a legacy of bursaries that give much-appreciated practical support to BSSC students.
